We’re getting closer!
News today of what documents will be required to enter Kent (I know, sounds crazy just saying it) have been released together with the practice Kent Access Permit government portal.
This ‘buffer’ plan for 01.01.21 still awaits the eagerly anticipated Goods Vehicle Movement System (GVMS), which without this in place, Kermit will fall off his lilypad.
So the haulier will need to log-on with his registration and confirm he has the documents, then proceed to Kent. If the driver is stopped and the paperwork is wrong he will be fined. Simple as that. If you are not a native English reader (as most Intl drivers aren’t) we doubt you’ll get away with a mistake, so tread carefully. We would suggest there is a language option, would be helpful.

If you get delayed and the permit details/timings are wrong, you will need to redo the permit.

Lorry parks popping up aroud the country are no doubt linked to this ‘document prep’. The huge lorry park in Kent will be for export (eastbound) trailer overflow from Dover docks. How it will work yet we don’t know (it isn’t built).
