We know it seems a bit premature but the Halloween stock has already been replaced in the shops with Xmas goods so we thought, let’s get ahead of the game. Here at Felixstowe, home to the largest container port in the UK, it’s important to keep on top of the CBS (Container Booking System) operating times, particularly in the festive period. Below we show the latest hours released from  the CBS administration team to keep us on our toes at Xmas.

Christmas

Shipping
Shipping will cease operations at 19:00 on Wednesday 24th December 2025 and recommence at 07:00 on Saturday 27th December 2025. Should the port decide to work vessels on Boxing Day shifts this notice will be updated to reflect this and the bank holiday surcharge will apply from 07:00 Friday 26th December 2025 to 07:00 Saturday 27th December 2025.
Yard

Christmas Eve. Wednesday 24/12/2025.
Bookings will be available through to 13:00 Hrs on both Terminals.
The last ingate will be at 14:15 Hrs and both Terminals will be closed to hauliers at 15:00 Hrs.
Prior to 12:00 Hrs the usual number of bookings and arrival tolerances will apply.
Bookings for this date and time will be released through the day on Monday 22/12/2025.

Shipping will be operated subject to voluntary working on the overnight shift from 19:00 Thursday 1st January 2026 to 07:00 Friday 2nd January 2026, please note that the Bank Holiday surcharge will apply during this time.
