Every two years, Agritechnica in Hannover becomes the centre of the global agricultural world—thousands of visitors, hundreds of exhibitors, and an extraordinary amount of agricultural machinery that needs to arrive on time, safely, and compliantly.

This year, an agricultural machinery manufacturer trusted Jordon Freight to move their newly manufactured, heavy, out-of-gauge agricultural machinery from the UK to Germany for display at the show. Here’s how we made it happen.

Understanding the Challenge

Transporting large agricultural machinery isn’t just a case of “send a truck.”
We’re talking heavy, oversize, custom-built equipment destined for one of the world’s biggest exhibitions. Timing had to be exact. Documentation had to be precise. And the specialist vehicles required had to be lined up well in advance—along with the customs and carnet processes that sit behind a successful move.

As an AEO-certified, ISO-accredited operator based on the Port of Felixstowe, the company came to us because they needed absolute confidence that their agricultural machinery would arrive in Germany smoothly and on schedule.

Planning the Move

Our Business Development Manager, Luke, co-ordinated with the team all pre-movement logistics, including:

  • 4 × low-loader trailers for the heavy, out-of-gauge agricultural machinery

  • 1 × curtain sider trailer carrying additional display materials

  • Full export and import customs clearances

  • ATA Carnet setup for the curtain sider, arranged with our trusted third-party partner

  • On-site client support, travelling directly to the client to walk them through completing the carnet correctly

With long-distance specialised transport, every detail counts—trailer types, loading sequence, estimated transit times, carnet stamping, showground access windows, and post-event collections. Everything was mapped out with the client well before the first trailer arrived.

Export: Getting to Hannover on Time

All five trailers departed the UK in a staggered schedule, ensuring every piece of agricultural machinery arrived during the designated delivery window before the show opened.

Because of the size and weight of the machinery, the four low loaders were essential. These trailers travelled under our project management from door to venue, supported by our network of reliable continental partners.

Meanwhile, the curtain sider travelled under an ATA Carnet—allowing temporary movement into the EU without paying duties and taxes. We organised this carnet from start to finish and ensured the clients team felt confident using it on the day.

Everything arrived exactly as planned.

The Real Challenge: Post-Show Collection

Anyone who’s worked in exhibitions knows that getting in is the easy part.
Getting out—especially with out-of-gauge equipment, fixed collection windows, and thousands of exhibitors doing the same—is where experience matters.

The key challenge for the customer was:

Collecting all machinery immediately after the show closed on Sunday 16th.

To make this happen, we coordinated:

  • All 5 trailers to arrive onsite for 07:00am sharp

  • Specialist equipment positioned at the stands ready for loading

  • Reload planning for different destinations

    • The four low loaders went on to deliver machinery to the clients customers across Germany

    • The curtain sider returned to the UK under carnet

Having everything in place the moment the halls opened for breakdown was essential—and we delivered exactly that.

The Outcome

Despite the size, complexity and tight timelines, the operation ran exactly as planned. The customer had everything they needed for Agritechnica 2025, displayed on time and returned on time, without stress or disruption.

This project brought together everything we’re known for:

  • Specialist freight expertise

  • Customs and carnet knowledge

  • On-the-ground support

  • Reliable European transport partners

  • AEO & ISO-accredited processes

  • Dedicated account management

  • Experience with high-pressure, time-sensitive movements

And most importantly—it delivered results for a valued client.
